Ever since the launch of the popular massive-multiplayer-online-roleplaying game, World of Warcraft, the path of other MMO launches has been a lot easier. Drescher goes on saying that because of what World of Warcraft has established in online MMO’s, other MMO’s have been successful getting into the gaming market and reaching out to more gamers out there.

Before WoW launched, it was tougher to break into the MMO market. Game developers were trying hard to develop good online games for people, but it was tough to nail the right elements. The post-WoW world is more inviting to online MMO’s due to many people already getting their feet wet from WoW.

I can say that because of games like World of Warcraft, the broader reach to gamers has been expanding. I can thank World of Warcraft for persuading me to reach out and try other online MMO’s such as Lunia, Dream of Mirror Online and other free online MMO’s that aren’t as well known as World of Warcraft, but whet the appetite of a gamer that longs to play online with other people.
