Blockbuster Entertainment recently announced its intent to expand its videogame selection and related offerings in all of its US locations. The plan essentially involves expanding the selection and quantity of games, hardware and accessories for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS and Wii, all of which will be located in a videogame-specific portion of the newly reconfigured stores. In addition to simply stocking more products, Blockbuster will apparently also offer a number of special deals for consumers, including exclusive hardware bundles.
Rod Murray, Blockbuster’s vice president of games merchandising, said this of the company’s new emphasis on videogames, “We’re committed to offering a full assortment of everything gamers want in our stores - hardware, accessories and retail and rental games across all platforms - including Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.”
