Matrix Games and Australian Design Group today announced the release of the initial update for their Empires in Arms title. The new update augments the AI’s Declaration of War tactical plan, offers new additions to the in-game user interface such as a news event banner at the commencement of the reinforce phase, and alterations to the in-game manual. The Director of Operations at Matrix Games, David Heath, said that “with this significant first official update, we’ve focused on fixing reported problems and addressing as many initial release issues as possible.”
Mr. Heath also added that “the updated Empires in Arms runs smoother than ever and as we near the end of the issues list, development will continue on several requested improvements” and went on to recommend that “anyone with an interest in Napoleonics or who enjoyed playing the original table top system should definitely give this game a try.”
Marshall Ellis, the Lead Developer of Empires in Arms, offered the comment that "the testing and development team has worked hard to make this patch a great improvement over the initial game.” Mr. Ellis delivered the assurance to players of Empire in Arms that “as long as fans of Empires in Arms continue to offer their feedback to us on improving the game, we’re more than willing to continue doing just that."
