| | again, for reference, the golf club can be found in many |
| | safehouses, the pool cue in clubs with pool tables and the |
| | shovel in most church graveyards and some warehouses. |
| | |
| | Once you have any of these weapons, find a suitable enemy |
| | and start pummeling them. Swinging repeatedly without |
| | stopping, as well as frequently pressing the execution |
| | trigger can reduce the risk that the enemy falls to their |
| | knees before you kill them (thereby getting the wrong |
| | execution style). Any additional information can be found |
| | in the strategy for "How’s Your Leg Execution." |

| | |
| Strategy | This is one of the easiest of an already simple type of |
| | execution styles. Once again, all you have to do is kill |
| | someone with the revolver. The only way you WON’T get this |
| | execution is if you perform either of the triggered |
| | executions ("Between the Eyes Execution," "Look at Me |
| | Execution") or kill your enemy in a single shot ("Sure |
| | Shot Execution"). While you will undoubtedly perform |
| | plenty of triggered kills, it’s quite unlikely that you |
| | will end up doing nothing but them. The one hit kill is |
| | also not something to worry about, as the revolver is the |
| | weakest weapon in the game. It’s very probable that you’ll |
| | achieve this execution style (with ease) during one of the |
| | training missions. It’s easy enough that I need not say |

| | |
| Strategy | Another fairly straightforward triggered style, "Riddled |
| | With Lead" requires you to use the Tommy gun and the |
| | execution trigger on a kneeling enemy. Like the other 7th |
| | generation variants, this execution style is the Tommy gun |
| | equivalent of "Faceoff Execution." While this shotgun |
| | version may take some complex setup, "Riddled With Lead" |
| | is quite easy to complete. Just stand a few feet from your |
| | enemy and use the Tommy gun to kneecap them. Assuming they |
| | don’t die from this initial volley, wait for them to fall |
| | to their knees, then run up and press the execution |
| | trigger. Be aware that if you are too close, you may |
| | automatically perform "Hard Head Execution" before your |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | This execution style is relatively easy to get. All you |
| | have to do is kill an enemy by running them over with your |
| | car. For most gangsters, hitting them twice is enough |
| | to take them down. The difficulty here comes in the fact |
| | that they are surprisingly adept at diving out of the way |
| | of your vehicle. Try to anticipate where they’re going to |
| | jump, and counter accordingly. You can also drive to one |
| | side, so that they’re clearly going to jump the other way, |
| | then at the last second, swerve that direction. Also, if a |
| | gangster is wounded or stunned (such as from a multiple |
| | gang and police firefight), they are generally immobile, |
| | and much easier to run over. Once you master the basics of |
| | driving in this game (which can be difficult given the |
| | absurd physics), you should have little trouble getting |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Shotgun |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | The Shotgun Execution is nothing more than the simple kill |
| | that its name suggests. As with the other firearm |
| | executions, all you have to do is get a normal |
| | (untriggered) kill on an enemy with the specified weapon. |
| | This shotgun version of the style is the hardest of these |
| | five executions (though still laughably easy) because the |
| | shotgun tends to deal the most damage. As I’ve noted with |
| | the other styles, if you kill your target in a single hit, |
| | you end up with "Sure Shot Execution" instead of the |
| | desired style. |
| | |
| | While you may be blowing people away with single shots |
| | left and right at the beginning of the game, it doesn’t |
| | take long to find out that tougher gangsters can stand up |
| | to quite a bit of punishment. Yes, those loitering |
| | Tattaglia goons go down quickly, but many Stracci and most |
| | Cuneo and Barzini gangsters won’t fall so easily. |
| | |
| | Essentially what I’m saying is, if you’re having |
| | difficulty avoiding the "Sure Shot Execution" while trying |
| | for this one (or "Gut Shot" or "Faceoff"), just seek out |
| | some higher level enemies who won’t die in a single shot. |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Two by Four |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | As mentioned in the strategy for the "Chin Up Execution," |
| | the greatest difficulty in getting this execution style |
| | may very well be simply acquiring the necessary weapon. |
| | Two by fours can be found by destroying any of the many |
| | flaming barrels around New York. Using a car, firearm from |
| | long range, or a pedestrian (thrown) is advised, as the |
| | barrels’ explosions can hurt you if you’re too close. |
| | Anyway, use whatever method you prefer to destroy one of |
| | these objects, then run into the flaming wreckage and you |
| | should find a two by four. If not, simply try with another |
| | barrel. |
| | |
| | Once you actually have the two by four, you can finally |
| | complete the execution style. Just find an enemy and start |
| | swinging at them. After doing some damage (but before they |
| | fall to their knees), press the execution trigger to |
| | finish them off. Note that this execution involves your |
| | character lighting the enemy on fire. The animation is |
| | particularly lengthy compared to those for the other |
| | triggered executions. As a result, don’t be concerned if |
| | you don’t get "credit" the second you press the trigger. |
| | Just wait a while and you should get it. |

| | |
| Items Required | Garrote Wire |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to get this execution style, you get to take a |
| | page out of Agent 47’s book, and strangle a gangster to |
| | death using the garrote (piano) wire. While it seems |
| | simple enough, you might have a little trouble actually |
| | finding the weapon itself. The earliest you can possibly |
| | get the garrote (to my knowledge) is during the mission |
| | "Sleeping With The Fishes." After the cinematic, you’ll |
| | have to fight through a handful of Tattaglia gangsters in |
| | order to kill Luca’s assassin. When you reach him, look on |
| | the floor near Luca’s body to find the garrote wire. If |
| | you miss the garrote here, you can pick one up from Tessio |
| | for your third hit contract, the one on Tony Bianchi |
| | (thanks to djholland for this information). |
| | If you don’t get the weapon at either of these times, |
| | you’re almost certain to acquire it during "Fireworks" or |
| | "Horseplay." |
| | |
| | Now that you have the garrote, you have to deal with |
| | another issue: finding a suitable target. In order to use |
| | the garrote, you must press the command for a blackhand |
| | grapple while you’re behind your target. Most gangsters |
| | will spin on their axis to face you, making an attack from |
| | the rear impossible. If you are unable to find a gangster |
| | who you can sneak up on, there are two good alternatives. |
| | One of these is to find a situation where multiple |
| | families and/or the police are engaged in a firefight. |
| | Find an enemy gangster who is occupied with another |
| | target, and try to garrote them from behind. An even |
| | easier alternative is to kneecap a gangster, and while |
| | they’re stunned, circle around behind them and use the |
| | garrote. This tactic makes this otherwise difficult style |
| | relatively easy to complete. |

| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | A first story window (just about every business has one) |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to get this execution, you must kill a gangster |
| | by throwing or pushing them out a first story window. Just |
| | like the Over Cooked Execution, you can either do this by |
| | holding them over the ledge and tapping forwards, or by |
| | swinging them towards the ledge an letting go (so they |
| | stumble backwards and trip out the window). Make sure, |
| | however, that your target is near death before you attempt |
| | this, as falling out of a window (on the ground floor) |
| | doesn’t do much damage at all. They must die in the |
| | process for this style to count. The only other difficulty |
| | comes from the fact that such a specific style requires |
| | you to divert all your attention towards one target. This |
| | is not the type of execution to attempt during a multi-man |
| | brawl. In general, just find a shop (almost anything |
| | except a bakery will work), pummel a nearby gangster until |
| | they’re nearly dead, and toss them through the window. |
| | Note that it doesn’t matter whether they go into the shop |
| | through the window or out of the shop through the window. |
| | As long as it kills them, you should get the award. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Lloyd Blackmore): This style may become |
| | very difficult with no enemies remaining [more so than |
| | most other executions] because few gangsters will be found |
| | in close vicinity to a window. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Chris Kinster): This style can also be |
| | awarded if a gangster falls out the window due to incoming |
| | fire (i.e. the bullets hitting him push him backwards out |
| | the window). One could also assume that this would apply |
| | to "Watch Your Step Execution" as well. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Josh Allen and The KrazyGamerHead): You |
| | may get credit for this style without even needing glass. |
| | Reader Josh Allen notes: "The Stained Glass Execution does |
| | not necessarily have to be performed in front of a window. |
| | I was shooting at a man near a very low wall. He fell |
| | over it and died. I was awarded the Stained Glass |
| | Execution for said deed." |
| | The KrazyGamerHead also describes how "if you are in a |
| | singing club you can throw a guy over the attendents |
| | counter and if they die you will get the Stained Glass |
| | Execution." |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Lethal | Yes |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Items Required | Any firearm |
|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | In order to get Sure Shot Execution, you must kill an |
| | enemy with a single shot. Contrary to what some guides may |
| | state, you do NOT need a headshot. However, as headshots |
| | automatically do six times normal damage, this is the |
| | recommended method. Still, you should be awarded the style |
| | if you kill an enemy with a single shot, regardless of |
| | where you shot them. With that in mind, here’s how to |
| | effectively use headshots to get this style. |
| | |
| | What you may have minor trouble with is managing to peg an |
| | an enemy in the head, especially since they like to run |
| | around and take cover. Again, you can use the ultimate |
| | "set-up" move: the kneecap. However, you may have an even |
| | easier time using this method: Find an enemy gangster on |
| | the street, say, protecting a business. Find a nearby wall |
| | that’s positioned so if you use wall cover on it, you’ll |
| | still have a clear line of sight towards the gangster. |
| | Assuming you haven’t alerted them, the gangsters should be |
| | standing around doing nothing. Use wall cover on the wall, |
| | then draw your weapon (handgun recommended). Lock on to |
| | the nearest gangster and take your time to move the |
| | reticule up directly over their head. When you’re ready, |
| | simply press the fire button, and your character will lean |
| | out from the wall and fire. Assuming you aimed correctly, |
| | you should get a lethal headshot. I suppose if you used a |
| | level 1 revolver on a Barzini Underboss, they might not |
| | die, but in just about any other situation, your target |
| | should be killed instantly. Like some of the other firearm |
| | styles, you can use free-aim to get this. Although it will |
| | allow you to hit targets that are out of lock-on distance, |
| | it isn’t the recommended method of getting this style. |

| Strategy | This is another simple execution style. All you have to do |
| | is use the magnum and the execution trigger to kill a |
| | standing enemy. As is the case with "Foot in Mouth |
| | Execution," if you’re fighting with weak enemies, you |
| | might end up killing them with a single magnum shot. In |
| | this case, you can try to kneecap them, but if they fall |
| | all the way, you’ll get the wrong style. Your best bet is |
| | just to find a slightly stronger enemy. Like many of the |
| | triggered firearm executions, if you’re right up against |
| | your foe (point blank range), simply firing once or twice |
| | may very well automatically trigger this execution |

| Strategy | By this point, I really shouldn’t have to explain what |

| | description alone should be more than enough to tell you |
| | what to do. It’s really as simple as it sounds: just kill |
| | an enemy using the Tommy gun. As with the other styles |
| | like this, you will get credit for any kill UNLESS you |
| | perform a triggered execution or kill your enemy in a |
| | single shot. Since the Tommy gun’s shots are quite weak |
| | individually, as long as you keep your distance, neither |

|________________|____________________________________________________________|
| | |
| Strategy | Countless e-mails, numerous complaints and my own personal |
| OVERVIEW | difficulties have prompted me to completely re-write this |
| | section, outlining a far more detailed strategy. In fact, |
| | so detailed that it needs sub-sections. I expect that most |
| | people reading this guide are specifically trying to get |
| | "Traffic Accident Execution." And with good reason: this |
| | is without a doubt the most difficult, and quite possibly |
| | the most unusual of all the execution styles in this game. |
| | Many people never get it not because of its difficulty |
| | (though this is definitely an issue), but because of its |
| | sheer bizarreness. |
| | |
| | In order to be awarded this execution style, you must |
| | throw, toss, or push a gangster so that they stumble into |
| | oncoming traffic. They must be killed by a car running |
| | into them. They cannot simply die from hitting the side of |
| | the car or from hitting the ground. |
| | |
| | The number of difficulties associated with this execution |
| | style is immense. For starters, this is an incredibly |
| | engrossing execution, so you shouldn’t try it with more |
| | than a single gangster. Also, given the state of extremely |
| | low health your target must be in before you attempt the |
| | execution, you really only get one (maybe two) shot(s) at |
| | it. Additionally, running in front of cars will result in |
| | them stopping, and the vehicles must be in motion for this |
| | execution to count. Furthermore, the game seems very |
| | determined not to spawn new cars when you really need |
| | them. On the few occasions it seems benevolent enough to |
| | give you the cars you need, they are either spawned |
| | stationary or are spawned in the distance driving away |
| | from you. On top of all that, once you’re grabbing onto |
| | your target, the camera focuses in very close to you, |
| | making it difficult, if not impossible, to see more than a |
| | few feet in any direction. Now that you know what you’re |
| | up against, let’s get on to the actual strategy. |
| | |
| Strategy: | First, the setup. Make sure that you have a full armament |
| SETUP | of weapons and a good supply of ammo. It goes without |
| | saying that you should have full health and your game |
| | should be saved. While it’s optional, I would strongly |
| | recommend bribing some cops to buy yourself some |
| | uninterrupted time. Anyone who’s had a police officer |
| | screw up their attempt can appreciate how irritating this |
| | interference can be. It’s also in your best interest to |
| | have fairly low vendetta levels with the other families, |
| | though this won’t have a pronounced effect unless you’re |
| | in a mob war (in which case you should not be attempting |
| | this style). Having a high level of fighting skill is also |
| | recommended, as it allows you to hold on to your enemy |
| | longer before they throw off your grapple. High street |
| | smarts (lower heat/vendetta) and health (obvious) skills |
| | can also help. |
| | |
| Strategy: | The next order of business is to find a good location to |
| LOCATION | attempt this style. You want a street that’s busy, but you |
| | also don’t want tons of pedestrians or cops getting in |
| | your way. If you are going to use enemies from businesses |
| | (rather than racket trucks), you’ll also want to make sure |
| | that you’re far away from your own establishments, as your |
| | allies love to kill enemy gangsters and will frequently |
| | interfere with your plans. If you’re going to use racket |
| | trucks (recommended), numerous reader e-mails have |
| | suggested that the tunnels throughout New York are the |
| | best place because of their isolation from external |
| | interference and their steady traffic flow. However, I’ve |
| | had issues with the traffic not flowing at all (as |
| | commented upon above), and the fact that it only goes in a |
| | single direction can be somewhat undesirable. |
| | |
| | I’ve had the best luck performing this execution style on |
| | Canal Street (the east-west arterial directly north of the |
| | Corleone compound). The best place on Canal Street seems |
| | to be somewhere between the West Side Highway/Holland |
| | Tunnel and the Broadway intersection (i.e. right around |
| | the turnoffs to the Verona Warehouse and Corleone |
| | Compound). I’m not saying that this can’t be performed |
| | elsewhere, I just find this to be the easiest place to do |
| | so. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Now, on to the targets. If you’ve chosen a street in the |
| TARGETS | main part of a neighborhood, you should be surrounded by |
| | numerous shops, restaurants, etc. Whichever of these |
| | businesses is under enemy control will provide you with |
| | your source of gangsters to use. If you are attempting the |
| | execution in a tunnel or anywhere else without businesses |
| | nearby (like my suggested location, Canal Street), or |
| | simply aren’t having luck in the cityscape, your best bet |
| | is to use racket trucks. Enemy gang cars that come after |
| | you when you steal their money can also be used, but their |
| | occupants are usually much tougher. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Finally, the technique. If you’re in the city, find your |
| TECHNIQUE | target business, kill all of the gangsters in the area |
| | except for one. He will be your victim. If you are using |
| | racket trucks (recommended), get to your location and wait |
| | for an enemy racket truck to drive by. Fire at the truck a |
| | few times to stop it (don’t destroy it, just a few shots |
| | will do). Kill the first enemy quickly, then PUT AWAY your |
| | weapon and rush the second enemy. Grab him and throw/push |
| | him out of the way. This should stun him for a while and |
| | give you time to operate. Draw your weapon again and wait |
| | for the driver to exit. Immediately shoot him until he |
| | dies. Yes, this may seem cruel and unnecessary, but let me |
| | assure you that a driver who fights back at you and |
| | accidentally punches your victim to death is just as |
| | irritating as an interfering cop. Now, holster your weapon |
| | again and run back to the second gangster (the one you |
| | didn’t kill). This is your victim. |
| | |
| | Make sure your weapon is holstered and grab your victim. |
| | If he’s strong enough, you can kneecap him so that you |
| | don’t have to take quite as much damage while getting |
| | within melee range. Once you’ve grabbed him, start |
| | punching him until his health is fairly low. You can |
| | continue to damage him until his health is critical (the |
| | health bar turns red), if you want. At critical health, a |
| | successful traffic hit is guaranteed to be lethal, but |
| | he’ll also die if you miss. At low (but not critical) |
| | health, a traffic hit SHOULD kill him, but if you miss, he |
| | might survive, giving you another try. It’s really your |
| | choice. Either way, you need to dish out a fair amount of |
| | damage to your victim. |
| | |
| | Once your victim is at the desired health level, start |
| | dragging him around. If you’re on a one-way street or in a |
| | tunnel, get to the sidewalk/side of the road. If you’re on |
| | a street that goes both ways, you may have better luck |
| | walking right along the middle lane divide. Get a ways |
| | away from the racket truck (if you used one), making sure |
| | NOT to pick up the large money bag from the guard (first |
| | enemy), as this causes gangsters to come after you. Once |
| | in a while, your victim should break your grab. As soon as |
| | he does this, just grab him again. If he draws a weapon, |
| | it’s essential that you get a hold of him immediately. If |
| | he tries to punch you, he’s not much of a threat. You can |
| | block his punch, run circles around him, etc. Either way, |
| | every time your victim tries to escape, simply grab him |
| | again. |
| | |
| | Next, you need to wait for a car. Sometimes, there is |
| | plenty of traffic flowing freely in both directions. Other |
| | times, the streets are empty, no matter where or how far |
| | you drag your victim. If this latter situation is the case |
| | for you, there isn’t much I can say. The game can be |
| | frustratingly stubborn with this, but I’ve found that |
| | spinning a full 360 degrees (while still holding your |
| | victim) occasionally spawns a few new cars. Either way, |
| | you want to continue to move along the road away from |
| | where you started. |
| | |
| | Once cars finally start moving towards you, swing your |
| | victim about 45 degrees to the side, so that you can get a |
| | better look down the road at the oncoming traffic. Edge as |
| | close to the traffic as you can get without causing the |
| | cars to stop. Now for the actual maneuver that kills your |
| | victim, although you can use the spin toss, I’ve had |
| | better luck using the push toss (walk forwards with a |
| | grabbed enemy and release the grab while moving). |
| | |
| | When you see a car approaching, judge its speed and |
| | distance, swing your victim back so that you’re facing the |
| | opposite side of the road, and release about half a second |
| | before the car comes by. If you did it correctly, the |
| | gangster should stumble backwards into the street and be |
| | hit and killed by the car. |
| | |
| | Unfortunately, the situation does not always play out this |
| | ideally. If you push your victim too early, he will fall |
| | backwards and hit the ground, dying before the car reaches |
| | him. If you’re too late, he’ll hit the side of the car as |
| | if he hit a solid wall. Even if he hits the corner |
| | (headlight area) of the car, and/or flips into the air, |
| | you still might not get credit. I hate to say it, but the |
| | only way to accurately judge the timing is practice. |
| | Personally, I always found that I needed to push my victim |
| | a split second earlier than I thought. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Now, some common confusions, misperceptions, etc. |
| MICRO FAQ | |
| | The traffic must be moving, you cannot simply push an |
| | enemy into a stationary car. They must fall in front of |
| | the moving vehicle such that it runs into them. |
| | Furthermore, you have to push/toss them into this car. |
| | Contrary to what you may have read, you CANNOT simply hold |
| | your victim in the path of traffic. I have stood on the |
| | sidewalk, holding a gangster such that the car driving by |
| | scraped him. He flipped out of my hands and died, but I |
| | did not get credit for the execution style. |
| | |
| | Note (thanks to Maddy Roth and The_Gambinos): Just as with |
| | some other executions, such as "Stained Glass," gunfire |
| | that knocks an enemy backwards into the execution may |
| | still give you credit. While this seems highly unlikely, |
| | you might as well try it if all other strategies are |
| | failing you. |
| | |
| | As with any execution style, only enemy gangsters count. |
| | Despite what seems to be suggested from one of my reader |
| | strategies, RACKET TRUCK DRIVERS DO NOT COUNT, they are |
| | civilians. Now, if you just want to practice, civilians |
| | make great victims. They already have low health, they |
| | don’t fight back, and they are easy to find. If you bribe |
| | a few cops to look the other way, you can practice this |
| | execution style on civilians all day long. Once you’ve got |
| | your technique down cold, try to actually get "credit" for |
| | it by using gangsters. |
| | |
| Strategy: | Note: If you thought that this execution was difficult |
| END-GAME | under normal circumstances, you don’t even want to imagine |
| | it if you wait until after you’re Don or Don of NYC. Even |
| | with a constant supply of enemy gangsters to work with, |
| | you can struggle to get a Traffic Accident Execution. When |
| | only a handful of enemies are left in the game, and |
| | they’re all in pre-determined locations, far away from |
| | most roads or traffic, you’re going to have a very |
| | difficult time getting this execution style. |

| USER METHOD 1 | |
| | "Complete all styles early for an easy $150,000, |
| | Trcuk Hi-jacks are/may be easier early in the game. |
| | |
| | It is correct to pay the cops and test this method on poor |
| | civilians. After practicing...a great place to find a bad |
| | guy is in the tunnels going to Jersey. |
| | |
| | Hijack a truck into one of the tunnel pull over areas. Do |
| | not block traffic. Traffic must be moving along. DO NOT |
| | BLOW UP TRUCK, this kills the driver. Take care of the 2 |
| | gaurds, DO NOT PICK UP THE MONEY ( picking up money is |
| | what brings the shooting car ) |
| | |
| | Grab the driver, reduce his health down to 1/4, then start |
| | running away from him, run to a point where traffic is |
| | flowing, The driver will chase you. |
| | |
| | Whne you get to side of the road, with traffic flowing, |
| | grab him, and do the release/throw, and time the |
| | release/throw to throw the poor victim into a |
| | car.....VIOLA.....$150,000 cash. |
| | |
| | THIS IS THE HARDEST, but this method made it easy." |

| | "With the "Traffic Accident" execution, it helped me a lot |
| | to go into a tunnel, any one will do, and pull off the |
| | road. Then I’d get out and wait for any delivery truck to |
| | go by. Shoot the truck until it stops and the mobsters get |
| | out. Then you can either shoot one mobster and the driver, |
| | wound the other and try for the execution, or keep |
| | shooting the truck until it blows up. |
| | |
| | Most of the time for me, at least one mobster was left |
| | alive after the truck exploded, and he was plenty stunned |
| | so I could go over and grab him. The tunnels provide an |
| | ideal enviroment for this because there’s no cops, no |
| | idiot passerby to get in the way, and plenty of moving |
| | traffic. |
| | |
| | Just thought that might help someone else. Traffic |
| | Accident is defintely the most difficult execution." |
